Chad Henne QB - MIA:

Feb 4, 10:35AM
The Denver Post expects Chad Henne to be among the free agents the Broncos consider signing to back-up Tim Tebow. The paper also lists Vince Young, Shaun Hill, Josh Johnson, Chris Redman, David Carr and Kevin O'Connell as possibilites. Denver could represent one of Henne's better opportunities to get on the field in 2012, but he should draw robust interest as a backup. He'll be able to avoid the Tebow circus if he wants to.

Feb 4, 10:23AM
Free agent WR Brandon Stokley isn't planning to retire. However, Stokley acknowledges "the odds are long" he returns for a 14th NFL season in 2012. Stokley appeared in two games for the Giants this season, catching just one pass before being released with an injury settlement.

Feb 4, 10:06AM
Jets coach Rex Ryan believes Santonio Holmes and Mark Sanchez can sort out their chemistry issues. "The first year they had good chemistry together," Ryan said. "Whatever happened, happened but we'll learn from it." Ryan also revealed Holmes is planning a "weekend retreat" with Sanchez in hopes the duo can iron out some of their problems. Although the Jets could save $15 million by releasing Holmes before Wednesday, he will be back in 2012.

Matthew Stafford QB - DET:
Stafford suffered...
Feb 4, 9:52AM
Matthew Stafford's Week 7 ankle sprain was reportedly of the high variety. The injury was reported as a garden-variety sprain at the time. Stafford didn't miss so much as a snap, confirming that he's no "China Doll" as former teammate LB Zack Follett once suggested. (Follett has since fallen out of the league.) After appearing in all 16 games and throwing for 5,038 yards this season, Stafford is up for the Comeback Player of the Year award Saturday.

Ahmad Bradshaw RB - NYG:

Feb 4, 9:40AM
Ahmad Bradshaw's absence from practice on Friday was due to soreness in his troublesome right foot. We knew it was Bradshaw's foot that held him out after he practiced on Wednesday on Thursday, but didn't know it wasn't a routine day of rest for New York's bruising back. Regardless, Bradshaw is listed as probable for Super Bowl XLVI, and should be at or near his normal level of effectiveness against the Pats.

Peyton Manning QB - IND:
Dolphins reportedly on...
Feb 4, 9:23AM
Citing two sources, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Miami is on the "short list" of places Peyton Manning would be willing to play if released by the Colts. The Sun-Sentinel essentially says the same as multiple stories we've seen previously. It's not breaking news. The "report" reiterates that Manning "at the top of the (Dolphins') list of targets," checking in ahead of free agent Matt Flynn. The story also comes one day after the Miami Herald reported Manning has exhibited "positive feelings" for South Florida throughout his career. It's still too early to meaningfully speculate on where Manning might end up, but the Dolphins are expected to be among his most ardent suitors.

Feb 4, 12:42AM
Former Giants draft pick and Redskins practice squad QB Andre Woodson is now pursuing a coaching career. Once considered a top prospect by draftniks, Woodson plummeted to the 198th pick in 2008 after the Senior Bowl exposed him as a deliberate passer with a big windup and slow release. Woodson spent 2011 working with quarterbacks as a student assistant at his alma mater, Kentucky. His playing days are over.
