League Play
When your roster for the selected Lineup Period does not meet the roster requirements of your league (see League
Rules Summary page), your team will not accumulate any stats for that entire period.
This is likely because in the Stats dropdown in the top left area of the screen, you have NFL (or whichever sport your league is in) selected instead
of Fantasy Team. Regardless of what's selected, Reserve players never actually accumulate points/stats for their teams. Their points are just shown for your
own analysis.
If you are the Commissioner of the league, go to the Teams tab (found in Commissioner Options --> League
Setup --> Teams & Schedules), click the "x" (remove) icon beside your team name, and click the "Save" button. This
will remove your fantasy team, however you will remain the Commissioner of that league.
If you are not the Commissioner, then go to Other --> Quit League.
* Using the Quit League function after the draft has begun will remove you from the league, however your
fantasy team will remain intact. Using this function before the draft has begun will remove your fantasy team from
the league.
Click on Player Position Eligibility in the Commissioner Options menu. You'll then be able to search for any player in your league's player pool and select \
which positions you want him to be eligible at, from a list of positions that your league uses. These positions will override any positions that player was eligible at \
based on your league's settings.
This is likely because the deadline to make lineup changes has passed for the period you have selected (see Other -->
League Rules Summary), or you are viewing another team and are not in Commissioner Mode. If this is not the case, feel
free to contact us via our
feedback form.
Once a player is set to Injured Reserve status, he can remain there indefinitely, regardless of whether or not that player is
injured anymore. However once a player is moved out of Injured Reserve status, he cannot be moved back to Injured Reserve if
he is not injured anymore.
There are a few league rules that can be configured to prevent most if not all types of collusion:
1) Waiver Wire: There are many different types of Waiver Wire configurations, but the general idea is to give every team a chance to pick up a player that has been dropped into the Free Agent pool. This will prevent one team from dropping a player specifically so another team he's colluding with can pick him up immediately after.
2) Trade Voting System: There are many different configuratons for trade voting, but the general idea is to prevent teams from making grossly unfair trades with each other. If enough teams vote against the trade, it will be vetoed.
Other collusion-preventing measures including "Can't Drop Lists" are coming soon. In the meantime, if you feel a team is cheating/colluding, don't hesitate to let us know. We do reserve the right to remove teams from leagues that we strongly feel are doing so.
Your league's Commissioner set your league to be a "duplicate players" league (see League Rules Summary page).
This means that any player can exist on more than 1 team. This option is often used for salary-cap games.
A player's score is a complex algorithm developed by Fantrax experts that determines a player value based your league's scoring system and the stats currently displayed.
Click on the League Rules Summary link in the Other menu.
Once a player is set to Injured Reserve status, he can remain there indefinitely. However, once that player is
moved out of Injured Reserve status, he cannot be put back there unless he is injured (indicated with a red flag
beside his name).
You can do this in Team --> My Team Preferences.
An illegal roster is one that doesn't meet your league's roster restrictions, set by the Commissioner of your league. When
a roster is illegal for a particular period, that roster does not accumulate any stats/points for that period. In
the Team Roster page, you can see the illegal roster messages (written over a yellow background, above the player
table), which explain how exactly your roster is illegal. You can view your league's roster restrictions in Other
--> League Rules Summary.
There are several reasons why your team may not be accumulating any stats/points for a particular period or timeframe:
1) Your roster is illegal.
2) You've exceeded the maximum # of games played per position(s).
3) You've exceeded the maximum allowed for 1 or more scoring categories.
4) You haven't reached the minimum required for 1 or more scoring categories by the end of the season (or end of
the Scoring Period for head-to-head leagues).
5) The players that were Active on your team did not accumulate any stats.
If you feel none of the above reasons apply, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form
A Lineup Period refers to the length of time team rosters are locked for. Once a lineup period begins, team \
rosters are locked for the entire period, and any transactions (lineup changes, claims/drops, trades) executed will
apply to the following lineup period.
For example, if your league's lineup periods are Weekly every Monday, and you claimed a player on Wednesday, that
player will not appear on your roster until the following Monday. However if your league used Daily lineup periods,
that claim would either take effect that same day or the following day, depending on when games start that day and
on what your league's Roster Deadline rule is.
Rotisserie leagues rank teams from first to last in each of several statistical scoring categories that the
Commissioner of the league has chosen to track. A score is awarded to each team for each of these categories,
based on where the team ranks within each category.
For example, in a 10-team league, the team with the most Goals would receive 10 points for that category. The team
with the second most goals would receive 9 points, and so on. When 2 or more teams are tied in a particular
category, the score to be awarded for each place is averaged out by the number of teams tied. So if 3 teams were
tied for second place, each team would receive 8 points ([9 + 8 + 7] / 3) for the Goals category.
Therefore, the maximum # of points a team can have in a Rotisserie league is the number of teams in a league
multiplied by the # of scoring categories in a league. So in a 10-team league, the maximum would be 100 points and
the minimum would be 10 points. The nature of Rotisserie leagues will cause teams to gain and lose points throughout
the season, depending on where they rank relative to the other teams in each category at any given time.
The above assumes that each scoring category is assigned a weight factor of 1, which is the default. The weight is
simply multiplied by the team's original score to determine its true score. For example, if Goals was assigned a
weight of 2, and a team was in 2nd place in Goals in a 10-team league, that team would receive 18 points for that
scoring category (9 (for being in 2nd place) x 2).
Teams will accumulate stats only from their Active players throughout the season. All stats are calculated per
player and are cumulative from the beginning to the end of the season, as opposed to being calculated per period,
per game, or per play. There are certain league rules that will cause teams or certain players to stop accumulating
stats. See the FAQ question Why is my team or certain players on my team not accumulating any stats or points?
for more information.
This feature is coming soon.
We have designed most pages (e.g. Players, Team Roster, Standings) to be printable in most web browsers. If you print out a page
and the result is not acceptable, let us know and we will look into it.
This is generally used when a group of friends get together in person to do their league's draft. The league's
Commissioner would then enter the results of that draft on Fantrax using the Offline Draft tool.
A live online draft allows all team owners to draft unique players on Fantrax in real-time, starting at a date &
time scheduled by the league's Commissioner. The draft order, # of draft rounds, time limit per pick, and other
draft-related settings are also configured by the Commissioner sometime before the draft begins (see the League
Rules Summary page. If you cannot attend your draft, it is recommended that you rank your players in the
Rank Players for Draft screen prior to the start of the draft. This will allow the system to draft your team
based on your preferences, as opposed to Fantrax's default rankings.
Fantrax will automatically draft players for every team at the scheduled date & time (by the Commissioner), based
on how each team ranked their players prior to the draft in the Rank Players for Draft page. If players are
not manually ranked by a team owner, Fantrax's default rankings will be used.
The Player Picker screen is used to form your initial team in Duplicate Player leagues. You may use this
screen at any time, as many times as you want, up until the deadline set by the Commissioner, which is usually
shortly before your season begins.
In the Team Roster page, select Schedule from the View dropdown. The games where your pitcher is scheduled to play
will be highlighted in green.
This feature is coming soon.

Go to Other --> My Team Preferences. Click on the Choose File button and select the image you want from your computer's
hard drive. Your team logo will then appear on the appropriate pages.
Stats will be accumulated for the game on its originally scheduled day as normal, then will continue to accumulate whenever the
game is resumed. The stats and scores for that game will apply to the lineup period containing the date that the game originally
began on.
Go to Other --> Team Owners List. Note that team owners have the option to hide certain information (e.g. phone #,
real name) from other league members.
Click on the Lost User/Pass link in the Login section near the top right of the screen.
This functionality is not available quite yet.
While the vast majority of our live drafts run successfully, it is still in BETA and thus results may be
unpredictable at times. However we usually respond to support e-mails immediately or shortly thereafter, regarding
problems with live drafts in progress, and can get it running again depending on the problem.
A new much-improved Live Online Draft application is in the works and will include many more features.
This feature is coming soon. For now, the same lineup/roster must be used for all matchups a team has in a given scoring period.
You cannot directly assign additional commissioners, however you can still accomplish this by creating 2 user accounts on Fantrax for the following purposes:
1st Account: Your fantasy team in your league, not the Commissioner.
2nd Account: The Commissioner of your league, with no team. You may give the Username and Password for this account to anybody whom you wish to have commissioner privileges.
Note: In the future we will implement a simple and direct way of assigning co-commissioners.
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams.
2) Clik the + icon next to the team you want to add a 2nd owner to.
3) Enter the e-mail address for that 2nd owner.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 to add more owners to that team.
5) Save the page.
Fractions aren't allowed, however decimals are. You simply need to assign the appropriate decimal value(s), for
example, using the following scoring range:
From 1 to 100, assign .1 point(s) for every 1 RuYd.
You would get 3.5 points for 35 Rushing Yards. The following range will NOT allow for decimal points:
From 1 to 100, assign 1 point(s) for every 10 Rushing Yards.
You would get 3 points for 35 Rushing Yards.
This functionality is not available yet, but will be in the near future.
The Live Online Draft room is not currently available for Duplicate Player leagues.
In the Team Roster screen, select "Schedule" in the "View" dropdown.
Your league's roster restrictions are configured to not use Reserve players (see: Other --> League Rules Summary).
Contact your league's Commissioner to make the necessary changes.
Note: For public leagues, the Commissioner can not make changes to your league's rules after the draft has been completed.
Your current team's salary will always include your currently Active players. However, depending on your league's
settings, it may or may not include players on Reserve, Injured Reserve, or Minors status. See the Salaries
section in the League Rules Summary page for how exactly your league handles this.
This is a minor display error that we are aware of and should have corrected shortly. Note that stats/points from
both games of the double-header are still being accumulated properly, which you can verify in the Team Roster,
Standings and Players pages.
We do not currently receive this data from our data provider, however we are working on alternative solutions and
are hoping to have it available in time for the 2010 NCAA Football season.
Private leagues: Yes, any rule can be changed at any time. Currently there are still certain settings in League Setup that are disabled
after the draft for Commissioners, but we can adjust those for you if you contact us via our
feedback form
and let us know which adjustment(s) you want made.
Public leagues: No changes to League Setup can be made by the Commissioner after the draft has been completed. There must be a unanimous
vote from all active league members in your league's message forums for Fantrax to make any such changes. If this unanimous vote does
occur, contact us via our
feedback form.
This means that the team owner has abandoned his team and the league sometime after the draft has been completed. The team still
exists with all its players, but is not being managed anymore and is available to be taken over by someone else. If there is
somebody that would like to take over such a team, he/she must contact us and we will make it happen.
Go to Team --> Illegal Rosters to view which teams have illegal rosters for which lineup periods. By clicking on the
+ icon for a given team and lineup period, you can also view the illegal roster messages.
Please contact Fantrax Support via the
feedback form and we will change this for you.
Note: Your User ID must be unique in our system, so you may want to give us a few options in order of preference.
All players set to that position will lose their stats/points for the entire season (non-head-to-head leagues) or the entire scoring period (head-to-head leagues).
Players set to that position will no longer accumulate any more stats/points beginning the day after the maximum was exceeded.
Teams can only see their own pending transactions. This is to preserve league integrity and possible cheating.
This is likely because you have "Field Goal Attempts Blocked" configured for your league, which is a "negative" stat against the kicking team.
What you want to do is replace that with "Blocked Field Goals", which is a "positive" stat for the blocking team.
This is likely because you have "Extra Point Attempts Blocked" configured for your league, which is a "negative" stat against the kicking team.
What you want to do is replace that with "Blocked Extra Points", which is a "positive" stat for the blocking team.
When Full Fantasy Team is selected in the Stats dropdown, all players who have ever accumulated
stats/points while Active on your team will appear, including those that aren't on your team anymore. If you
select Fantasy Team those players will be hidden, however their stats/points will still be included in
your team totals.
In the Stats dropdown, you must select the sport that your fantasy league is in (MLB, NFL, etc.) instead of Fantasy Team.
There are a few possible reasons for this:
1) Your league is configured to be a "duplicate player" league, meaning any player can be claimed by and exist on multiple teams. Thus,
there is no need for trades. The Commissioner can change this setting in Commissioner Options --> League Setup --> General if
the draft has not started yet.
2) Your league is configured to not allow trades. The Commissioner can change this setting in Commissioner Options --> League Setup -->
Transactions --> Trades.
3) Your league is configured to only allow the Commissioner to make trades. The Commissioner can change this setting in
Commissioner Options --> League Setup --> Transactions --> Trades.
Your league is configured to either not allow claims/drops at all, or to only allow the Commissioner to perform claims & drops.
The Commissioner can change this setting in Commissioner Options --> League Setup --> Transactions --> Claims/Drops.
No, you dont need to do anything. Any changes to your league's scoring system will take effect immediately, and all scores and
stats will be updated retroactively from the beginning of the season.
Players go on waivers when they enter your league's available player pool. This can occur:
a) When a fantasy team drops a player.
b) When a new player has been added to our system.
c) When a player has been traded from his MLB (or other sport) team that's not in your league's player pool to an MLB (or other
sport) team in your league's player pool.
Other methods of sending players to the Waiver Wire are coming soon.
If your league does not use a Waiver Wire system, all players in the available player pool are Free Agents.
If your league uses a Waiver Wire system, players in the available player pool are either Free Agents or on the Waiver Wire.
If they are on the Waiver Wire, they become Free Agents as soon as waivers are processed, provided they were not claimed by a
fantasy team.
For information regarding when players go on waivers, see the FAQ question When do players go on waivers (i.e. the Waiver Wire)?.
Yes, if your league is configured to allow that. In the League Rules Summary page under the Rosters section, look for the
field Suspended players may be moved to Injured Reserve.
Not at this time, but that functionality is coming soon.
Yes, as soon as your draft has been completed, your league's stats/scores/standings will be updated retroactive to the beginning of the season.
A player is determined as being injured when he has an injury of any type, whether he's on his professional team's injury list
(also known as Injured Reserve, Disabled List, etc., depending on the sport), or just day-to-day.
You can find your leagues from past seasons by clicking on the League History link under the MY LEAGUES menu.
A serpentine order (also commonly known as a snake order) reverses the order of teams each round. For example:
Round 1: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
Round 2: Team 4, Team 3, Team 2, Team 1
Round 3: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
... and so on. A non-serpentine order would go like this:
Round 1: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
Round 2: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
Round 3: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
... and so on. The serpentine order is more common, and is generally used for drafts and processing player claims.
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams.
2) Fill in the Team Name and Team Abbreviation fields at the top of the screen.
3) Click the Create button.
4) Click Save or Save & Continue.
Once a player is set to Minors status, he can remain there indefinitely. However, once that player is moved out of
Minors status, he cannot be put back there unless he is qualified to do so (indicated with a yellow flag beside
his name) according to your league's rules.
This functionality is not available yet, but will be in the near future. Feel free to contact Fantrax Support if you
have any questions regarding this.
Only the Commissioner of your league can do this by using Commissioner Mode in the Claim/Drop screen and
claiming/dropping the player(s) in question for the appropriate period(s).
In the near future this process will be simplified for the Commissioner by being able to simply click on the
Undo icon in the Transaction History page for the appropriate transaction.
Go to the Pending Transactions screen, check the Cancel box for the appropriate transaction(s), then click the
Save Changes button.
To add players to your Watch List, go to the Players page and click on the watch list icon (picture of an eye) in
the Action column.
You can view your Watch List in the fantasy league home page by clicking on the Watch List tab (next to the
All Player News tab) in the Players section.
At this time none of our data providers carry injury data for NCAA Basketball or NCAA Football. We are looking into
other options and hope to make this available before the 2010 seasons. In the meantime, if your league uses the
Injured Reserve status, your Commissioner will have to manually administer this (he can set any roster player to
Injured Reserve status using Commissioner Mode).
Not yet, but we are working on this feature.
Yes, but only once the new/upcoming season is available. For example, if your 2010 NFL season just ended, you will
not be able to execute claims/drops or trades until 2011 NFL Commissioner leagues become available (and you're able
to create a new 2011 league or renew your 2010 league to 2011), which happens when the official 2011 NFL schedule
is resuled (sometime around March-April). Same concept applies to all sports.
Players will not accumulate any points during the Olympic break. For head-to-head leagues, there will soon
(sometime before the Olympics) be an option (which will be checked by default) to disallow ties when both teams'
scores are 0 in a given Scoring Period. This will prevent teams from acquiring ties during the Olympic break.
